We had a great first week in business. As it turns out people want lots of seasonals too! Almost each and every order placed included dill, and our red and white spring onions. Our Mild Salad Mix also sold out our first week along with snow peas! Customers are finding a lot of creative uses for Carter Acres produce. From fennel pistachio salads to artisinal pizzas, and salads! Check out the Sunflower, Soba noodle, and crispy tofu salad we cooked up at the Acres tonight!
Sunflower micros, snow peas, spring onion, lettuce(coming soon), and micro thai basil(coming soon), along with crispy tofo and soba.
I added a home made peanut sauce made with peanut butter, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, juice of one mandarin orange, and fish sauce. It was down right, slap your mama delish!
We have a large harvest coming friday of all microgreens. We have plenty of Spring onion, dill, and fennel to pick from. I expect in the next few weeks to have less availability of dill and fennel as temperatures heat up.
Our next round of seasonals is fast approaching, We will have multicolor beets and tri color carrots. Through the summer I also expect a bounty of okra, patty pan squash, tomatoes, and assorted peppers. Be on the lookout and check back often as our seasonals are small batch farmed.
